WHAT

School and educational approach

Specialized for 35 years in the teaching of applied arts, Pivaut School relies on a recognized expertise and a high quality educational process to offer its students rich and varied training, adapted to the market’s needs.

The school was founded in 1985 in Nantes, and is the first private school of art established in the city with a professional vocation, based on drawing and fundamentals. When it opened, the school offered three courses: Advertising, Industrial Design and Painted Decoration.

In the 1990s, these courses were so successful that the number of students increased sixfold. In response to this major development, preparatory classes, previously unseen in France, were set up in Nantes.

Animation, illustration, motion design or concept art, the school offers a complete range of courses in a professional environment increasingly challenging.

Proud of its values and its high level of academic standards, Pivaut School strives to train tomorrow’s creative talents in the best possible conditions, in order to facilitate their entry into the professional world.

FOR WHOM

Required profile & curriculum

Pivaut School is intended for those who aspire to blossom in their artistic practice, and to turn their passion into a profession.

It is in keeping with this aim that the school has diversified its programs, and offers two separate preparatory years, one in applied arts, and the other in narrative drawing, either in Rennes or Nantes. This specificity allows students to choose a path that truly suits their aspirations from the very first year of study.

The school prepares its students to join many artistic and exciting fields, and each year, graphic designers, illustrators, comic book authors, concept artists, game designers, character designers, or animators, recognized for their talent and their artistic and technical skills, emerge from its ranks.

WHERE

Established since 1985 in Nantes, Pivaut School also offers its training courses in Rennes, as well as on the other side of the Atlantic, in Montreal. Each of these cities, which benefits from an exceptional cultural environment and dynamism, offers an ideal setting for the study of applied and entertaining arts.
